For several years, Nicki’s Diapers has offered its own exclusive pull-on diaper cover, which comes in multiple sizes. Two months ago, something new arrived on the scene - an Imagine brand pull-on cover.
Today's post will compare the two brands, which are similar, and take a look at how the Imagine cover fits and performs.
Here's a quick summary of the new Imagine pull-on cover:
- Retail price of $7.95 at Nicki’s Diapers
- Made of one layer of waterproof PUL with contrasting white poly-knit trim
- Designed to be worn over fitted diapers or pinned/fastened flats and prefolds
- Wipeable interior
- Minimal seams for less leak potential
- Made ethically in China
Here is the suggested weight range:
Newborn (5 to 10 lbs)
Small (7 to 18 lbs)
Medium (15 to 26 lbs)
Large (21 to 32+ lbs)

For visual comparison, here is a large Imagine pull-on next to the Nicki's large pull-on. Pretty close, right?
A pull-on cover is possibly the most lightweight option you can go with; it's only one layer and the puffy style allows for lots of airflow.
Using Imagine's size chart, I tried both the medium and large on 26-pound Camille. Medium definitely suited her better, with snug (but not uncomfortable) leg gussets and a fit that wasn't saggy.

The main difference in terms of sizing, is that the Nicki's pull-on comes in size extra large, which fits 30+ pounds, and the Imagine pull-on comes in size newborn, which fits 5 to 10 pounds. Personally, I think it's more important to have the toddler/extra large size available, since pull-on covers aren't easy to use with a wiggly newborn that likes to make 10 or more messes per day!
Another difference is price; the new Imagine covers are $7.96; Nicki's are $6.95. When you buy the Nicki's brand, one diaper is donated to a child in need. And currently, the Nicki's pull-ons are available in a lot more color choices.

I would either choose Blue Razz or strawberry fizz. We find out in a couple weeks if we are having a girl or boy!
ReplyDeleteIf I won, I would choose the Paddy Plaid!
ReplyDeleteI've not tried the pull not covers, but could see how they could be useful also as a backup when transitioning to potty training!!
